Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition, met with Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday and urged him to take down disparaging comments about him. This follows the opposition’s filing of a no-trust vote against Jagdeep Dhankar, the chairman of the Rajya Sabha.
Rahul stated In addition to saying that the Congress wants the House to operate and that the conversation should take place in the House, Speaker Birla promised to investigate.
In reference to BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey and Sambit Patra, who claimed Rahul had ties to Hungarian-American businessman George Soros, the Congress MP was addressing.
“Soros ke saath, Congress ka haath.” OCCRP, which receives all of its funding from George Soros and the US government, has ties to Congress. Was George Soros the source of Rahul Gandhi’s funding for the Bharat Jodo Yatra? Dubey had stated.
The administration does not want to talk about Adani, Rahul added after saying, “No matter what they say about me, we want to have a debate on December 13,” on Wednesday.
Kharge attacked Dhankar in the Rajya Sabha, claiming that his acts had “hurt the dignity of India.”
Kharge clarified that it is not “personal” and stated that the Congress was forced to present a motion of no confidence.” A notice has already been given. The president of Congress stated, “The opposition is here to speak, standing together on this delicate issue.”
He claimed that Dhankar had not given the opposition the time or space to bring up important problems over the previous three years, leaving them with no other choice.
The opposition, according to Kharge, expects the chairperson to protect them, but he “keeps gesturing to ruling party MPs to speak.” He claimed that by treating the MPs like a headmaster, Dhankar is attempting to disparage opposition leaders. Kharge accused Dhankar of acting as the mouthpiece for the Centre and called the chairperson the largest disruptor of the Rajya Sabha.
The day was adjourned in both Houses.
