Rahul Gandhi vs. EC | Congress to "expose" BJP's "vote chori" in 48 Lok Sabha seats following Bengaluru Central

The Congress party is allegedly preparing to “expose” inconsistencies in 48 Lok Sabha seats, where the party narrowly lost to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, in an attempt to up the ante against the Election Commission over purported abnormalities in the electoral list.

A meeting of senior party leaders was reportedly conducted by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday to discuss alleged “vote chori” in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Lok Sabha opposition, allegedly accused the BJP of using the same strategy as Bengaluru Central in 48 Lok Sabha seats where the party narrowly lost to the ruling party at the meeting.

According to reports, the Congress leader has chosen to present the results in seven-eight stages. Gandhi and the Election Commission are embroiled in a heated dispute over purported anomalies in the electoral record.
The Congress leader has accused the Election Commission of manipulating the electoral roll and exerting pressure on the BJP. Gandhi accused some voters of multiple voting and claimed that their identities contained invalid addresses during a recent news conference to “expose” the irregularities, using the Bengaluru Central Lok Sabha constituency as an example.

In order for the poll body to take legal action, the Commission referred to the accusations as untrue and deceptive and asked the Congress leader to take an oath. Additionally, the Commission refuted allegations that digital copies of the electoral roll were not being sent to political parties. Gandhi should apologise, the Commission stated, for deceiving the country.
