Puri: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced 2 days official holiday for Rathayatra-2024. As the two-day Rath Yatra is going to be held, the Chief Minister has ordered the officials from today’s Rath Yatra coordination meeting to declare a holiday on July 8. Officials have been directed to issue statutory notices on leave. After the meeting, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said that all preparations have been made to make the ride successful this time. He has requested everyone’s cooperation.
In the review meeting, the Chief Minister said, this year there is going to be a rare and unusual ride. After a long 53 years, this year is going to be a rare ride. We are lucky to have such an opportunity in the new government. This year, the Rath Yatra will be completed in 2 days. Therefore, the government has ordered to extend the one day holiday by one more day. The Chief Minister has sought everyone’s cooperation so that the Rath Yatra will end safely. President Draupadi Murmu has expressed his desire to watch the procession and pull the chariot. So this is a matter of great joy and glory. Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has called for the success of this rare ride.
A Rathayatra review meeting was held today under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister. Deputy Chief Minister Kankavardhan Singhdeo, Panagi Parida, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Commerce Minister Vibhuthi Jena and Health Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling were prominently present. The DG of Police and officers of various departments also attended the meeting. Various issues like disciplined philosophy, crowd control etc. have been discussed in it.
