62 years old and making an international debut! Cricket history is made by Andrew Brownlee.

The age of Rohit Sharma is 37. The age of Virat Kohli is 36. Superstars in Indian cricket, however, believe they have more to go, despite the opinions of the game’s commentators.

Here’s some inspiration for the two of them, traveling from the Falkland Islands! A man named Andrew Brownlee became the oldest person to make an international cricket debut at the age of 62 years and 145 days. When he played for the Falkland Islands in a Twenty20 International match against Costa Rica on March 10 in Guacima, Costa Rica, he went down in history.

The previous record was held by Osman Goker, who on August 29, 2019, at the age of 59 and 181 days, played his first international match for Turkey in a Twenty20 International against Romania. Nevertheless, Goker, who entered at No. 11, scored 1 not out and did not bowl as Turkey was dismissed for 53 after needing to chase 227 to win.

Brownlee, a right-hand hitter, has scored six runs in three T20I games thus far. He bowls medium right-arm as well, but he hasn’t taken a wicket in international cricket yet.

In addition, Brownlee became the first male cricket player to play for his country after turning sixty.

James Southerton of England is the oldest debutant in Test cricket, having made his debut aged 49 years and 119 days. At 47 years and 240 days, N.E. Clarke of the Netherlands made his debut in ODIs.
